With your help, WestonArts can continue to:

 

• CONNECT, CELEBRATE and SUPPORT ARTISTS of all genres from amateur to acclaimed throughout the community.

​

• Provide youth arts GRANTS, through Weston Social Services, to help make the arts accessible to those in need, and funds 5 arts education SCHOLARSHIPS for graduating WHS students.

​

• Host arts-related EVENTS like the Weston Fine Arts Festival, the Red White & Blues concert at the Memorial Day Fair, and Verses, our new showcase of spoken word, music, and art.

​

• Provide arts-related FUNDING throughout the community, past examples include $300,000 for WHS auditorium seat renovation, $3,500 for audio sequencing software for the WMS Music Lab, $480 for easels for the Weston Senior Center ... and much more!

WestonArts Inc. is a Connecticut 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to supporting, connecting, and celebrating the arts in our community.

 

​Since its founding in 2005, WestonArts members have devoted their time and talents to raising funds and creating opportunities to promote and develop the arts to enrich the entire community of Weston.

* We host arts workshops, exhibits, and events, as well as provide a network to connect and support local artists. 

 

* We fund community-based arts scholarships and grants, and support Weston Social Services to help make the arts accessible.

 

* We sponsor awards to honor and recognize excellence and dedication to the arts. 

 

* We celebrate local artists from emerging to established ... from painters to poets, musicians to dancers, singers to sculptors, directors to performers, photographers to fashion designers ... all the arts imaginable, and yet to be imagined!

WestonArts Annual Award for Commitment to the Arts in Weston

 

​

Mort Schindel, was founder of Weston Woods Studios, an early innovator in the field of adapting children's books to audio/video media. 

 

Mort was the recipient of the WestonArts Annual Award for Commitment to the Arts in Weston, 2013.  This award is made to an individual nominated by the Weston Community at large and elected by the Board of WestonArts for the dedication and devotion to the arts in Weston
